We came back from teaching in St Croix to a NY that was on lock down. A straight up police state. There were random check points, snipers on roofs and military all over the place with automatic weapons. I suppose the desired effect was safety… but somehow I didn’t feel safer. Maybe if there were tables on every corner signing people up for free health care I’d feel safer. I’m glad the occupation is over and I’m glad New Yorkers looked past fear and took to the streets to express themselves.
My current focus is getting ready for this screening. I’m currently debating whether writing in this blog everyday until the screening will be calming or distracting.
I suppose if you don’t hear from till after the 10th of September you know what happened. hope to see some of you there :)
